It is one of the hardest NISM papers: 150 marks, 60% to pass, 25% negative marking and 9 case-study sets, in 180 minutes. Negative marking means careless guessing can pull a borderline score below 90. Early BullWiser mock data (a small sample) is in the pass-rate answer above.
Pass both NISM X-A and X-B, then apply to SEBI for registration. SEBI's December 2024 amendment lowered the education requirement from a post-graduate to a graduate degree (in the fields SEBI specifies) and dropped the prior-experience requirement. Registration has other conditions too, so read SEBI's current Investment Advisers Regulations before applying.
