Exam-Cram — Chapter 1
  • Saving = income − spending; investment = committing savings for a period to get a larger sum back; every investor is a saver, not vice versa.
  • Investor values the asset first (buys when intrinsic value > price); speculator ignores value and acts on conjecture.
  • Objectives are stated in risk, return and liquidity terms; assess risk appetite (willingness + ability) before return.
  • Required return = real risk-free rate + inflation compensation + risk premium; it is a minimum, not a guarantee.
  • NRR = (1 + real) × (1 + inflation) − 1: 2% real and 6% inflation gives 8.12% (additive shortcut ≈ 8%).
  • PV = FV ÷ (1 + r)^n: ₹105 due in a year at 5% is worth ₹100 today.
  • Risk = dispersion around expected return, measured by standard deviation; risk-return link is positive but non-linear.
  • A weaker home currency boosts returns on foreign assets; a stronger one cuts them.
  • Commodities pay no current income; gold = safe haven and inflation hedge; soft commodities have low correlation with stocks and bonds.
  • Structured products = bond/equity + derivatives: complex, often illiquid, carry issuer credit risk.
  • Minimum ticket: PMS ₹50 lakh, AIF ₹1 crore; PMS investor directly owns the securities.
  • AIF Cat I = start-ups/VC/social ventures; Cat II = PE/debt; Cat III = hedge/long-short.

NISM Notes PDF — Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free NISM notes PDF?
Yes — the Chapter 1 sample above is free, no login or payment required. It's the same depth and format as all 12 chapters in the full ₹199 pack.
What's the difference between BullWiser's notes and the official NISM workbook?
The official NISM workbook is NISM's own textbook, sold directly by NISM at nism.ac.in — it's the authoritative, complete syllabus reference. BullWiser's 170-page pack is original condensed revision notes plus a practice question bank, built for last-week revision after you've studied the syllabus, not a replacement for the official workbook.
How many pages and chapters are in the NISM XXI-A notes PDF?
170 pages covering all 12 chapters of the NISM Series XXI-A (PMS Distributors) syllabus, with condensed notes and an Exam-Cram box for each chapter and all 800 practice questions with answers and explanations. One-time ₹199, instant download.
Do I need to buy the official NISM workbook too?
Not necessarily. Many candidates use BullWiser's notes alone for revision and practice. If you're learning a topic from scratch rather than revising, the official NISM workbook remains the more complete first-read reference.
How do I get the PDF after paying?
Instantly — the download link appears the moment payment is confirmed, with up to 5 downloads tied to the email you paid with.
BullWiser is an independent financial data and education platform, not affiliated with NISM or SEBI. The Study Pack is a preparation aid — it indicates and improves readiness but does not guarantee a pass in the official examination. For official NISM examinations and workbooks, visit nism.ac.in.
